Mustard & St. Louis Rib Rubs

Whether you're smoking or grilling, it's always good to have a tasty balanced rub on hand. Next time you fire up the grill, try out one or both of these rubs.

Ingredients

Mustard Rub

  • 3 Tbsp Dry Mustard
  • 3 Tbsp Granulated Garlic
  • 3 Tbsp Granulated Onion
  • 2 Tbsp Turmeric
  • 2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Cumin
  • 2 Tbsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Tsp Smoked Paprika

St. Louis Rib Rub

  • 1 C Granulated Sugar (Fine Ground)
  • 1 C Spanish Paprika
  • 1 C Chili Powder
  • ½ C Granulated Onion
  • ½ C Granulated Garlic
  • 1/3 C Ground Cumin
  • 1/3 C Dry Mustard
  • 2 Tbsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper

Method

For Either Rub Recipe

Combine all ingredients for each rub in a medium bowl and mix well. Use to season meat before grilling. For best results, occasionally mist meats, while cooking, with water or water mixed with apple cider vinegar.
